MBT is proud to present Charlie Chaplin’s The Circus with expert live accompaniment by Dennis James

One of Charlie Chaplin’s flat-out funniest features, The Circus is a cinematic big top packed with thrills, romance, and mischievous monkeys. Don’t miss your chance to see this all-time classic on MBT’s big screen with expert live accompaniment by the great Dennis James.

Wrongfully pursued by the police, Chaplin’s wandering tramp ducks into a big top mid-show. His bumbling attempts to avoid pursuing police officers earn the laughter and applause of the circus-goers. Impressed, the circus ringmaster (Allan Garcia) decides to employ the tramp as an entertainer. In between getting trapped in a lion’s cage and partaking in clumsy high-wire escapades, Chaplin falls for the beautiful show rider (Merna Kennedy), who unfortunately has eyes for a daring tightrope acrobat.
